Drug and Alcohol Group
16th December 2014
A ‘Natural Highs’ drug and alcohol awareness course commenced in September, aimed at engaging young adults in healthy behaviours and educating them in the dangers of substance abuse. The course was delivered by FASA – Families Against Substance and included 10 sessions covering the legal classification of drugs, and the physical effects and emotional effects of drugs on individuals and families, amongst others. The course provides young people with the chance to explore how they can experience feelings of euphoria in a safe manner through participation in various high adrenaline activities. Fifteen young people from Suffolk and Lenadoon took part.
