Peace Walls Art Programme

8th May 2014

The next sites to be progressed through the Peace Walls Programme focuses on are the Colin Glen River Path in Suffolk, and the Lenadoon side of the Stewartstown Road interface. We are pleased to have successfully secured funding for an artist to come in and deliver an art programme around these sites, as part of a wider programme to develop art works at a range of sites. We will be consulting with the community around the development of a re-imaging plan examining how we could creatively engage residents from both communities in the art programme. As well as fully engaging local adults and young people in the programme, this will allow us to develop ideas on types of artwork that could make the site more attractive. Following a tender process, an artist has been appointed to do this work will start their engagement process in early May. This programme is funded by Building Peace through the Arts: Re-Imaging Communities Programme.
