Childhood Obesity Research

3rd March 2010

On the Tuesday 2 March we are hosting a seminar in the Balmoral Hotel to explore the creation of a new piece of action research targeted at tackling the issue of childhood obesity and making healthy choices in the Suffolk Lenadoon area. We want to explore the most effective way of dealing with this issue through schools, families and communities. The key question for the project is that if these three influences on children's lives work together in a targeted way can we change attitudes and life styles and positively impact on the problem of childhood obesity?

This idea is still at a very early stage and obviously if something like this is to be a success it requires all of the agencies and organisations in the area who work with children, young people and their families to be informed about the project at the very least but hopefully be actively involved in shaping and delivering it. This session in the Balmoral provides the opportunity to do that.

If you or anyone else from your organisation would like to come along please confirm your attendance with Laura on laura@slig.co.uk or 02890 629 146 before Thursday 25th February.
